Vivo Life Perform Plant Protein Review
Review of Vivo Life Perform Plant Protein
Vivo Life's Perform Plant Protein claims to be a "delicious and healthy way to increase your protein intake".
In this review article, we'll be covering the composition of this product, how it sets itself apart from similar products, and its potential benefits.
An introduction to Vivo Life Perform Plant Protein
As its product name suggests, the Vivo Life protein is a plant-based, raw protein powder.
The product comes as powder, making it easy to use in protein shakes, as well as snacks such as protein bars.
As a natural protein powder it is also sugar-free, making it a sensible alternative to less healthy snacks and foods.
Composition and flavour
We've talked about the product in broad strokes so far, but what does its composition look like?
As was mentioned before, the Vivo Life protein powder is sugar-free, but this doesn't mean that it's lacking in the flavour department!
It contains extract from the Stevia leaf (steviol glycosides) which is a natural form of sweetener.
This has an advantage over some other sweeteners in that it is derived from a natural plant, rather than being synthetically produced.
Stevia is also virtually calorie/carb-free, giving it a big advantage over sugar. From my perspective, Stevia makes for a great natural alternative to chemical sweeteners and sugar with very little downside, and I'm happy to see it being used in this product's composition!
But what kind of flavours can you expect to get out of Vivo Life's protein? After all, a good flavour makes all the difference when it comes to making protein shakes that you actually want to drink!
Fortunately, Vivo Life has that part covered too! They offer a good range of flavours that are likely to satisfy most tastes including:
- Banana & Cinnamon
- Salted Maca Caramel
- Strawberry & Vanilla
- Madagascan Vanilla
- Acai and Blueberry
- Raw Cacao
That's a good range of flavours if you ask me! For this review I was able to try the Banana & Cinnamon flavour, as well as the Salted Maca Caramel. Let's talk about the Banana & Cinnamon flavour first!
This flavour has a sweet and almost creamy note to the banana, but you can also taste a hint of cinnamon in there.
Some banana proteins don't have anything working alongside it, which often makes them a bit overbearing and sickly sweet.
I'm glad to say the addition of cinnamon really helps with this, as it provides a good contrast to the banana flavour and stops it from being overpowering. Its good to know that the deliciously natural banana taste comes from freeze dried Ecuadorian banana powder!
But what about the other flavour - Salted Maca Caramel?
This was also very nice, yet quite different to the Banana & Cinnamon flavour. The Salted Maca Caramel is a bit sweeter and punchier compared to the former, yet Vivo Life have still done a great job of keeping it in check so that it's not too sweet.
The caramel notes give a pleasant sweetness, while the slight salty note helps to balance and enhance the overall flavour.
Overall, I would say that both flavours are very tasty, all the while sticking to a natural composition that's better for the body.
Benefits of natural protein
What sort of benefits can you expect to see with natural protein?
Vivo Life's Perform Plant Protein sets out to provide the following range of benefits:
- Protein without bloating
- Easy to digest
- Vegan friendly
- Goes great with a pure body extra detox
Closing thoughts
Its safe to say that I'm fussy about what I put into my body and when choosing a product, the ingredients list is the first place I look. I'm happy to report that I love Vivo Life plant protein and not only am I happy to be consuming it, I also love the taste which doesn't always go hand in hand with a natural, plant based protein powder!
